Great days at Hofstra
Huntington Robotics won the sustainablity award at Hofstra.

Team 5016 competed at their first event of the season at Hofstra University, facing some early challenges that the team quickly overcame. During practice day, a broken intake temporarily set them back, but the team worked through the night to get back to full functionality by the start of competition day. Day two brought its share of obstacles including an autonomous routine that unexpectedly collided with a field element, taking out the intake again mid competition. The team made repairs and returned to the field, finishing qualification rounds in 46th place. Alliance selection turned the day around. Team 5016 was chosen by the Hixville J-Birds as their second pick for their alliance. The team strategized with their alliance partners and competed hard through the playoff bracket, ultimately finishing in 4th place after a strong run. The highlight of the day came during the awards ceremony. Team 5016 was recognized with the Sustainability Award, with judges citing a 100% increase in team size and the addition of a full FLL team. Chief of Business Jordana led the team to the stage to accept the honor. With a playoff finish and a regional award in hand, Team 5016 heads into the Albany competition with strong momentum.
